Thanks for such a fun adventure. We visited College Station and came to a concert with my brother-in-law and wife. It was my first time at a house concert and we (my husband and I) truly had a wonderful time. Hopefully, we will get to come to another concert! Please be sure to let us know of the next one. The entertainment did wonderful. Again, we really enjoyed our night...thank you!

Martha, at the risk of sounding sappy, Saturday night was simply magical; i thoroughly enjoyed it. i think i am hooked. Shake is an incredibly talented artist, and his accompanist was outstanding also; thanks so much for providing your home as the venue, and i look forward to the next one.

Hi Mer,
Love your web site. i surfed for a while. We Montana Texans sure do miss you. Great to see how well your concerts are doing. We sure did have a crush on Shake back in 1979 didn't we? Maybe some day I'll be able to attend. I'm proud of you and the direction you're going with your life work. Friends forever.

Hey Ms. M,
Am hoping to see some of the newer contemporary Christian artists in your line-up for house concerts. Any chance you'll throw one or two in your schedule? We need to have a girls day out for lunch and pedi's. Give me a holler soon. ~Deb.

Hey Martha,
I'm working for Texas Music Times now and I'm really interest in doing an article on you at one of your shows. Gimme a shout. Let me know what you think.

Martha & Jelly Jar:
Thanks so much for making my cousin Reese's birthday such a great night to remember! The b-day cake and impromptu Beatles' Yer Birthday were special touches, above and beyond. Kind of ironic I had to travel from Austin to College Station to discover house concerts and Jelly Jar, but I'm a huge fan of both now.
Put me on the email list, Martha. I'll be back for another concert someday.
I'll see you soon at Jovita's, Jelly Jar.

hi, Chris...
thanks for the suggestion. i will check out ryan turner. i've not heard of him.
and i'll make a recommendation back to you. if you like public radio, be sure to check out bryan college station's community radio station, KEOS 89.1 FM. they do great things for live music in the brazos valley and offer a wide variety of programming, including lots of texas, roots-rock, alt-country, bluegrass, country, blues and acoustic genres of music. i volunteer there in several ways and they in turn offer tremendous support to my series, often hosting my musicians for a live performance in their studio around the day of the show.
tune in and let me know what you think! be sure to set a pre-set on your car radio and try it out whenever you're in the car. you'll catch all kinds of interesting stuff. you won't like all of it, but you're sure to like several somethings you hear.
oh yeah, and we're always looking for more folks to help out in big and small ways at the station - if you are a lover of public radio, you surely have some unique skills you can help us with.
finally, if you'd like to be added to the rphc mailing list, just drop me a line at thechick@rockprairie.com - i'd love to meet you at a future show!
sincerely,

I caught this link on the KAMU website, as I am a public radio enthusiast.
I am a local returning to the area after running a company in Austin, and in the hill country it does not take long to become a authority on Texas country.
I have seen an upcoming artist named Ryan Turner(RT) on several occasions. Many friends and I have also heard his single played on several stations throughout Texas and he has opened for several big names in Texas Country.
On his last trip to College Station, I accompanied about 25 other Ryan Turner fans. Even the opening act sported a RT T-shirt along with several patrons. I think he would be a great attraction. Ihave seen his website at http://ryanturnermusic.com/.

My mom is the host of all these house concerts and I think that they are the coolest. Getting to meet all of the artists and hearing their music is a blast. I hope everyone will get the chance to come to one sometime because they are really worth it.

I didn't know what to expect at martha's house, but as soon as I walked in the door I said , " this is going to be cool". It was by far the best concert experience I have had in a long time.
