life and death and home -
when a young person dies, we grieve. we ask why. we reflect. we search for some good to come of it. i don’t have the answers for why keith duncan died, but i have learned some comforting things from it.
becoming a runner, or "how i went insane"
people often ask me, how did you get started running? every runner’s story is different. here’s mine.
50 years is a long time
My husband’s parents were married 50 years ago yesterday. A testimony unto itself, yet the stories told at their anniversary party shed more light on their life and love…
Miss Fix-It Returns
i am good at fixing lots of things around the house (or at least coaxing them into temporarily improved performance) but i have never had much luck with plumbing. i know this about me and therefore, why i started messing with the kitchen sink, i'll never know. well yes i do, i wanted to just do this one little thing: after all, it wasn't "plumbing", it was a soap dispenser! then i could show my hard-working husband how good i am around the house even with some of the manly chores, so he can be comforted in knowing that while he sometimes has to to be off working on a weekend, i can handle things at home. PHHHHTTTT! that theory went down the drain!
i can be jell-o!
some things i have learned about hosting house concerts - what you are good at takes time to understand, and it’s not always what you want to be good at. but i think i’m good with that now.
i am a runner
Some thoughts have been circling in my head since completing my second marathon a couple of days ago. if you are a runner, you know. if not, you think we are crazy, and i guess we are, a little. and life is good.
what goes around, you may not want to claim
a fourth grade crush comes full circle to humiliate me in an airport as an adult. who says God doesn't have a sense of humor?
Miss Fix-It
i'm pretty handy around the house and i'm learnin' the young'uns to be too...
it's the little things...
hosting and playing my house concerts requires trusting artists and small miracles.
